Alan C. McMillan President and Chief Executive Officer, National Safety Council Mr. McMillan will briefly address the relationship between CSHEMA and the National Safety Council. He will also present several CSHEMA awards.

Biography Alan C. McMillan has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the National Safety Council since March, 2001. He was elected to the position by the Council’s Board of Directors after serving as the executive vice president of t he National Safety Council for six years. Mr. McMillan has more than 30 years of government and private sector safety, health and environmental experience, including service with the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the Mine Safety and Health Administration. He has directed the day-to-day operations of the NSC since February , 1995. Mr. McMillan received his B.S. degree from the University of Florida in 1966 and his M.A. degree from the University of West Georgia in 1980. He also completed a senior executive fellowship at Harvard University in 1980.
